The Lloyd
The Lloyd was a makeover of a tired hotel in Stamford Connecticut to reposition it as Stamford's premier boutique hotel offering.
The 3500 SF space was re-ordered, and warm organic materials were implemented to provide guests with comfortable and inviting lounge and dining areas. The concrete surface of the walls is softened by curtains. The lobby was conceived as a great room that contains the bar, lounge and dining space. The architectural intent was to give the space the look and feel of a home where guests would be comfortable spending the day. A separate library allows guests a more intimate place to read a book or use their laptop.
On the outside, exterior wall cladding by UltraShield unites the exterior and interior seamlessly, setting the tone for what is to come upon entering the hotel. The European style Norwegian System brings warm color and texture to the exterior and a welcoming vibe.
